Pride Month is a time for people to come together to celebrate the 2SLGBTQ+ community and advocate for their rights. The Queen카지노 게임 컬렉션s community is showing its support by raising the Progress Pride flag on campus in front of Douglas Library and taking part in events at the university and in Kingston.
카지노 게임 컬렉션Pride is a deeply meaningful time for the Queen카지노 게임 컬렉션s community, a moment to come together in celebration, reflection, and solidarity," says Vice-Principal (Culture, Equity, and Inclusion) Stephanie Simpson. "We are honoured to raise the Pride Flag this month and invite everyone to celebrate the important contributions 2SLGBTQ+ students, faculty and staff make to our community and to learn more about ongoing struggles for equity and justice.카지노 게임 컬렉션
The Yellow House Student Centre for Equity and Inclusion is one of several campus groups that are organizing events during June that provide space for the Queen카지노 게임 컬렉션s community and students to engage, learn, and connect.
카지노 게임 컬렉션Pride is a protest, and celebrating our existence is a form of resistance,카지노 게임 컬렉션 says Kel Martin, Sexual and Gender Diversity Advisor, Yellow House. 카지노 게임 컬렉션We exist year-round, and coming together for Pride is a huge moment of collective resistance where we are all existing together. Seeing solidarity at Pride through allies standing with us, and seeing activism for other causes, such as supporting those impacted by colonial powers, coming together during Pride gives me hope, the more hands we have to support the stronger we are. And when we connect with community during Pride month, we are also looking to our past to celebrate our queer and trans ancestors who fought for what we have and remind us that, as much as we grieve our losses and advocate and fight for a better world, we also need to take time to celebrate and be in community together.카지노 게임 컬렉션

A year of Yellow House activities
Pride is also an opportunity for Yellow House to look back on the recently completed academic year and think about the progress they카지노 게임 컬렉션ve made in supporting the 2SLGBTQ+ community since being founded in 2019.
One of the highlights of the past year was the second annual Gender Diverse Wellness Retreat in April, which brought 31 trans, non-binary, genderqueer, agender, and other gender diverse students on a three-day trip to the to take part in activities that helped them create connections, reflect on their experiences, and celebrate their identities. The retreat is a collaboration with Student Wellness Services, who provide a 2SLGBTQ+ psychotherapist to assist in planning and facilitating the retreat to ensure a meaningful focus on therapeutic spaces and student wellness.
카지노 게임 컬렉션The space we built was intentional, with all facilitators, including student and full-time staff and community facilitators, identifying as gender diverse,카지노 게임 컬렉션 says Lauren Jack, EDII Programs Developer for Sexual and Gender Diversity, Yellow House. In this space, there was no need to explain your identity or question if you would be supported. Instead, it felt like the first time some students could take a breath and know they were perceived on their own terms. These spaces and building community help to remind the world we have been here and will continue to thrive into the future.카지노 게임 컬렉션
More than twice as many students as last year took part in the Gender Diverse Wellness Retreat, and highlights included song circles, shared meals, art activities such as beading and tie dye, nature walks, student-led D&D, a canoe workshop, meditation, and therapeutic spaces.
The retreat was just one of many events offered by Yellow House this year that gave 2SLGBTQ+ students at Queen카지노 게임 컬렉션s a chance to build community. More than ever before, Yellow House worked with campus partners to offer unique events, such as Solidarity Swims, a collaboration with Queen카지노 게임 컬렉션s Athletics & Recreation that offers students the chance to connect through swimming during sessions at the campus pool open only to trans, non-binary, and other gender diverse people and their invited guests. In addition to events, Yellow House also offers advising for 2LSGBTQ+ students with their who works with students to assist in navigating their time at Queen카지노 게임 컬렉션s and connecting with resources and support.
